When we started Nonprophet Advisors, our goal was simple: prove that AI could serve nonprofits differently.  Not as another consultant recommending a bigger software stack - but as a partner who honors the intelligence nonprofits already possess: the lived experience of staff, the wisdom of boards, the relationships with communities, and the values that guide decisions.

Twelve months later—and after working alongside multiple nonprofits who are measurably stronger—we’ve learned something important:

Nonprofits don’t need more advice about AI. They need it to build creative capacity.

AI isn’t “new software.” It isn’t a replacement for people. And it isn’t a force that has to displace what’s already working. Used well, AI should connect your existing systems, organize fragmented knowledge, reduce administrative load, and help people and machines complement rather than compete.

From strategy to solutions

In our earliest work, “Advisors” fit. We trained teams, shaped strategy, and built early adoption pathways.

But the work has evolved. Alissa and I are now breaking a different wall: showing nonprofits that mission is achievable without burnout being the cost of doing good.
